Simple, gentle, non-surgical options
Emergency contraception (EC), also known as the Morning-After Pill and Plan B, is intended for use after unprotected sexual intercourse or when you believe your primary method of birth control has failed and unwanted pregnancy may result.
The Abortion Pill
Early termination offers less-invasive methods.
Also known by its trade name Mifiprex (Mifepristone) and commonly referred to as RU-486, the Abortion Pill is prescribed to terminate pregnancy up to 49 days after the beginning of the latest menstruation.
We specialize in early abortion methods.
Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) is done between 5-7 weeks of pregnancy and is one of the least invasive procedures that we offer. The procedure is done in about 5 minutes with no electronic machinery used and no scraping involved.
Pregnancy up until 12 weeks of gestation
The surgery generally takes between five and ten minutes. You are then taken to the recovery room where you will be observed by our nursing staff for another thirty to sixty minutes.
Pregnancy from 13 to 24 weeks of gestation
The surgery to terminate a pregnancy between 13 and 15 weeks can usually performed in one day. For pregnancies between 16 and 24 weeks a two or possibly three day procedure is required.
Caring for women for over 35 years
Ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening condition to the mother and the fetus cannot survive. The developing cells must be removed to save the mother’s life. This is an emergency condition and you must seek medical help immediately.
“Such a stressful time couldn’t have gone any smoother than this. The staff is truly friendly, I didn’t feel judged whatsoever. The doctor spent plenty of time with me and the procedure was quick.” 24, NY
Permanent Birth Control
Essure is a non-surgical, hormone-free form of permanent birth control
This method is irreversible and can only be performed on patients who are sure they do not want to become pregnant in the future. It involves the insertion of soft, flexible micro-inserts that block the Fallopian tubes and prevent sperm from reaching and fertilizing eggs. The ovaries will still produce eggs, but they will not be able to reach the uterus. Instead, they will be safely reabsorbed into the abdomen.
THERMACHOICE® is an effective, non-hormonal treatment for heavy periods
THERMACHOICE® is a soft, flexible balloon that a doctor inserts in the uterus (womb) to treat the endometrium, the lining of the uterus. It involves a minimally invasive, 8-minute procedure that can be performed in our office or in a hospital. THERMACHOICE® is intended to treat pre-menopausal women with heavy bleeding (due to benign causes) who do not wish to become pregnant in the future.
The Birth Control Pill
The birth control pill prevents pregnancy over 99% of the time if taken correctly.
Birth control is not appropriate for every woman and medical screening is required. The pill comes is different dosages and prescriptions. Once the medical screening is passed, the woman will be given the proper prescription. It is important to follow the prescription instructions precisely so that the pill is effective. While the pill is an effective measure in preventing pregnancy, it does not provide protection against the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
